Since 1 December 2020, HiProMine S.A. has been implementing the project: Development and real-conditions verification of innovative methods for slaughtering, sterilization, drying and fat separation from Hermetia Illucens larvae, as a way to the reduced production cost of high quality functional feed materials.
The project is co-funded from European Funds by the National Centre for Research and Development within the framework of Measure 1.1 “R&D projects of enterprises”, Sub-measure 1.1.1 “Industrial research and development work implemented by enterprises” of the Smart Growth Operational Programme.
The aim of the project
The aim of the project is to develop and verify new proces and equipment solutions in the area of slaughter, sterilization, drying and fat separation from Hermetia Illucens larvae. Development of optimal proces conditions for the above stages of insect meal production and creation of a pilot line ensuring their maintenance and increased proces efficiency will allow to achieve two main project goals, i.e.
- Minimizing the costs of the indicated processes, thereby reducing the costs of producing final products marketed by the Applicant, i.e. insect meal and fat from Hermetia Illucens.
- A clear improvement in the quality parameters of the indicated final products, by providing a higher protein content, lower fat content and increasing the antimicrobial activity of the meal, as well as increasing the content of lauric acid in the obtained fat, which will allow tchem to be labeled functional feed materials – a product highly desired by the market.
Value of the project: PLN 9 558 152,50
